A corrupt technician might tell you the compressor is dead, replace the cheap capacitor behind your back, charge you ₹8,000 for a 'new compressor', and leave your old compressor in place!

How to Verify a Compressor Fault

• Ask for Amperage Readings: A dead compressor draws extremely high starting current (LRA) or zero current. Ask the technician to measure this with a clamp meter.
• Check the Warranty: Most split AC compressors carry a 5 to 10-year manufacturer warranty. If your unit is under 5 years old, the manufacturer will replace it free of charge.
